Privacy Policy

This page describes what Hoqmail does with data. It is short because the service collects very little.

What we process

Hoqmail reads mail that has already been delivered to your mailbox by your mail provider. When you look up an address, the application connects to that mailbox, fetches the matching messages and renders them. Attachments are fetched the same way, one at a time, only when you ask to download one. It does not copy messages into its own database, does not index them and does not retain them after the page is served.

Your mail is stored by your mail provider, not by Hoqmail. Deleting a message there removes it from here too, because here is only a window onto there.

Cookies

Hoqmail sets two cookies, both strictly necessary and neither used to track you:

  • A session cookie that remembers you are signed in. It expires when you close your browser.
  • A preference cookie holding the last address you looked at, so returning to the site opens the same mailbox. It lasts a year and you can clear it by emptying the search box.

Both are marked HttpOnly and SameSite=Lax, and Secure when the site is served over HTTPS. Neither is readable by JavaScript and neither leaves this site.

There are no analytics cookies, no advertising cookies and no third-party trackers. We do not measure visits and we do not build a profile of you.

Third parties

One party necessarily sees something: your mail provider stores the mailbox and delivers the mail, so their privacy terms apply to the mail itself.

Beyond that there are none. This site loads no third-party scripts, fonts, analytics or embeds — every file your browser requests comes from this domain, so no other company learns that you visited.

Security

The connection to the mail server is encrypted with TLS. Message content is rendered inside a sandboxed frame that cannot run scripts, submit forms or reach the rest of the page, so a hostile message cannot act on your session. Sign-in attempts are rate limited.

Your rights

Because Hoqmail stores nothing of its own, there is no Hoqmail-held record to export or erase; requests about the mail itself belong with your mail provider. For anything about this site, write to bilgi@hoqmail.com.
